Hand-crafted transparent cube preserving a desert rose, a crystal that grows in the shape of a flower.
As the name suggests, a desert rose forms in the desert. Long ago, water carried dissolved minerals through the sand, and as it slowly dried away, they crystallised into thin, overlapping blades, like petals opening. Each one is a quiet record that water was once there. Look closely and you'll see grains of desert sand still caught between the petals.
Created by Usagi no Nedoko in Kyoto, each SOLA CUBE is a "small universe" of natural detail. Alongside their botanical cubes, this one holds something from the mineral world. The more you observe, the more you're drawn into the intricate details preserved within. Compact and versatile, it sits happily on a desk or window sill for display, and works as a stylish paperweight too.
*This Sola Cube is in large size (5x5x5 cm)
