Japanese cherry wood plate featuring the traditional flowering quince motif.
Created by designer Oji Masanori and handmade by expert craftsmen at Aizawa Wood Works in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture, the Kito trays and plates are based on traditional Japanese motifs found in architecture and the decorative arts.
Made from proprietary stock of 100-year-old wood, the KITO series was created based on the concept of "together with the trees," and highlights the beauty of the natural qualities of wood aiming to bring its comfort into daily life.
This small plate showcases the beautiful, slightly reddish grain of mountain cherry wood. The quince shape is an auspicious motif symbolising the wish for prosperity. Finished with food-safe "liquid glass" coating that preserves natural texture whilst allowing easy cleaning.
Available in two sizes—both perfect for small servings, sweets, or as decorative accent pieces.
