Japanese zelkova tray inspired by snowflakes—an auspicious pattern symbolising a bountiful harvest.
Created by designer Oji Masanori and handmade by expert craftsmen at Aizawa Wood Works in Wajima, Ishikawa Prefecture, the KITO trays and plates are based on traditional Japanese motifs found in architecture and the decorative arts.
Made from proprietary stock of 100-year-old wood, the KITO series was created based on the concept of "together with the trees," and highlights the beauty of the natural qualities of wood aiming to bring its comfort into daily life.
The snowflake shape symbolises good fortune with clean, gentle lines that pair well with any tableware. Finished with food-safe "liquid glass" coating that preserves natural texture whilst allowing easy cleaning.
Available in two sizes: small for a mug and a sweet, and medium for tea time or as a decorative tray.
