Created by Nakagawa in collaboration with Sakuzan Kiln as part of the "Essential Set" series—designed for effortless daily use of regional Japanese tableware. These cups preserve Mino ware's characteristic flowing glazes and expressive forms beloved by tea masters in a modern, sharp shape, allowing them to fit in casually as your everyday cups.

Available in three traditional glazes: "Kairagi" features a crinkled, granular texture beloved by tea masters; "Tsuchi-hai" uses an ancient glaze known for its earthy texture and colour; and "Ao-Oribe" showcases the striking green developed under Furuta Oribe's guidance. Mix and match colours for a varied table setting.

Each piece develops more character with use, growing increasingly endearing over time.

[Before First Use]
To prevent staining and protect the fine surface cracks (crazing), we recommend performing the following preparation steps:

1. Place the ceramic item in a pot with rice rinsing water (or, plain water with a handful of uncooked rice or table spoon of flour)
2. Heat over medium-low heat until just before boiling
3. Simmer gently for about 15 minutes
4. Turn off the heat and allow to cool completely to room temperature in the liquid
5. Remove, wash thoroughly with mild detergent, and dry completely before use

This traditional "sealing" process fills the microscopic pores in the clay, helping to prevent stains and extend the life of your ceramic piece.
