A ceramic rice bowl made by Nakagawa with Suigi Pottery in Seto, Aichi Prefecture — a town that has produced pottery for more than a thousand years, and whose name (瀬戸物, seto-mono) became the everyday Japanese word for ceramics.
Available in two traditional Seto glazes. Seto Yellow (黄瀬戸, Ki-Seto) is a warm yellow-green ash glaze refined for tea ceremony in the late 16th century. Old Seto Brown (古瀬戸, Ko-Seto) is a deeper iron-rich glaze with roots in medieval Seto from the Kamakura and Muromachi periods.
A medium-sized bowl in a size and shape that can be held in one hand at the table. In two warm earthy colour and Part of Nakagawa's Essential Set series for daily use.
