This beautiful sakeware is crafted by Meizan Kiln, a Shigaraki ware kiln with 400 years of history. "Sun and Moon" mug features a traditional Japanese pattern inspired by the kiln's logo.

This is a set of one sake server ("Katakuchi") and two sake cups ("Ochoko"), perfect for a  sake fan looking for a unique vessel of ones own.

The distinctive exterior gradient is created by layering two glazes that blend and drip during firing. Different glaze textures create an intriguing tactile experience—the feel varies from spot to spot. Combined with the handcrafted form and warm pottery texture, this sake set has a relaxed feel.

Shigaraki, one of Japan's six ancient kilns, uses clay rich in feldspar and quartz that produces unique kiln changes—fire color, ash glaze, and stone spatter. Meizan Kiln continues to honour this heritage while exploring new expressions.
