Collection: Kungyokudo

Founded in 1594 as a medicinal-herb merchant beside Nishi Honganji Temple in Kyoto, Kungyokudo is one of Japan's oldest incense houses, and has kept its fragrance tradition alive for over four centuries. Across more than 430 years it has made incense for ceremony and for daily life, adapting to each era while holding to the natural, perfume-led blending refined over generations. From its original home in front of Nishi Honganji, the house continues to honour Kyoto's incense heritage while shaping new scents for contemporary life.
