Collection: Arita Ware(Yaki)

Arita ware (有田焼) is Japan's oldest porcelain tradition, made in Saga Prefecture since the early 17th century. The first kilns were established around 1616, when porcelain stone was discovered in the hills around Arita town — a find that turned Japan into a major porcelain producer within a generation.

What unites Arita ware across four centuries is a quiet precision: thin, even walls, clean glazes, and motifs that feel as fresh today as they did when they were first painted — the blue and white arabesques, chrysanthemums, and asanoha geometrics that have always been Arita's signature.

We carry pieces from a handful of Arita kilns at Karintō Edition, with a focus on the everyday end of the range — rice bowls, plates, tea cups, and small dishes that bring this long tradition to a modern table.
